感謝週May 7, 2013

這星期是教師感謝週(Teacher Appreciation Week)，Room Mom在上星期已經把老師喜歡的List給我們，所以給想要送禮的家長，有個方向可尋，至少不會送到老師不喜歡的東西吧！基於我們的傳統延承，我還是喜歡送Gift Cards, 所以老師可以自己去買喜歡的東西。美國人不喜歡收現金，好像是說感覺被瞧不起，所以Gift Cards就接近我們所謂的禮金(卷)。

經過朋友小芳(關於學校方面的解惑良師)的指點，我星期一就把卡片和禮物送去給老師，老師看了我的卡片感動到差點哭了，我在寫卡片時，是真的很由衷地感謝這位老師，她說她會永遠記得這張卡片，還給我掛保證會幫Eric選一位下學年的好老師。我跟老師說「You make our lives easier!」說著說著眼框都溼了，還是忍不住滴下兩滴感謝的淚水。因為上一位老師，每日一點一滴的負面訊息，真的把我們折磨的好厲害呀！

朋友小芳說，我每週撥出一個小時去幫老師的忙，而且老師也稱讚我做的東西都很仔細(老師說她自己是個完美主義者，喜歡漂亮的東西)，這些一切一切，老師都看在眼裡，知道我很努力地在跟學校及老師做積極的溝通。我又不時會送個小點心之類的，知道我已經獻出最大的誠意了，而且我們真的不是機車怪獸家長，Eric 也不是問題學生。所以老師敢給我掛保證，幫忙選明年度的合適老師，我的辛苦跟努力真的沒有白費，感恩啊！

以下是我寫給老師的卡片內容：

Dear Ms. Dailey,

We feel so fortune to have gotten you as Eric's teacher for the last three months of this school year. You are such a fantastic teacher to make the transition go so smoothly. We can see Eric brings huge smile back home everyday and we know he is happy at school. Thank you for helping to make kindergarten such a positive experience for Eric. Knowing he has positive things to say about himself and the school, which means a lot to us.

We can't thank you enough for being an excellent educator! We know teachers like you are not easy to find. We hope all of Eric's teachers will be as outstanding as you.
