(When your child walks out our doors),裡面說明了這所學校的教育方針,不是什麼蒙特梭利的啟發,也不是教孩子們別輸在起跑點上,而是教我們的孩子如何成為一個獨立的個體,這就是我喜歡這所學校的地方,教孩子生活及成長。
When your child walks out our doors-
I want to hear him say, “I hope I can come back and play here again.”
When your child walks out our doors-
I want to know he feels like he can do anything in the world, especially when it is really hard.
When your child walks out our doors-
I want to see a big smile on his face and a bounce in his step because inside he is happy with himself.
When your child walks out our doors-
I want him to be able to tell you when you’ve hurt his feelings and to know that it is okay to cry.
When your child walks out our doors-
I want him to know how to take care of himself and his belongings.
When your child walks out our doors-
I want him to be able to think for himself, without anyone telling him what to do.
When your child walks out our doors-
I want him to be so full of creativity that it oozes from his fingers.
When your child walks out our doors-
I want him to know there are teachers who will always love him.
When your child walks out our doors-
I want him to be able to ask a friend for a turn and to be able to wait for that turn.
When your child walks out our doors-
I want to him to know that every time he looks at the trees he thinks- “God made the trees.”
When your child walks out our doors-
I want you to know that we have given our very best to love, care for, encourage and teach your child to be the very best person God created him to be.
AND
When your child walks out our doors for the very last time-
I want you to know that a tear will roll down our cheeks and a prayer will be offered up to Heaven for the child that you hold in your hands and the future that lies ahead. §
